Otahuna Valley
This is a valley that reaches from the valley floor right up to just below the Summit Road. We take a trail along the creek in the valley floor for about a half hour before winding our way to the gorse covered heights along the trail. It connects us to the Port Hills Trail, Gherkins Road, Bindies and the forest trail. There is a very spectacular and popular loop trail we often take for our half day rides.

The Top of the Loop
We can take a short diversion to a very good lunch spot by a lake, and in hot weather we can take the horses for a swim or a paddle. Ourselves too if we wish.

The Omahu Bush Ride
We take the gentle elevated trail up Otahuna Valley following a creek we ford several times amongst lowland native bush up to the Omahu Bush Reserve. Here we take a small loop and return.
